This Chuppah is painted with watercolour Hydrangeas, foliage and leaves on a light weave fabric.
This lattice of natural elements surround a Magen David, which is framed by 2 repetitions of the famed Romantic Hymn “אני לדודי ודודי לי – I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine” (Song of Songs – Shir HaShirim 6:3), written by King Solomon expresses the affinity between soul mates.
Each letter of אהבה, the hebrew word for ‘Love’, is located in a corner of the artwork. In this way, the design of the canopy also relates to the Chuppah structure itself, which is open on all 4 sides to resemble the future home created through the marriage. Love emanates from every direction.
As 18 is the numerical signifier for חי (Chai) meaning life, 18 single hydrangea flowers float happily across the artwork. Similarly, the Chuppah canopy measures 1.8m x 1.8m. In this way, these coded expressions of חי (Chai) allows the artwork to usher good fortune, vitality and mazel for all those couples who marry beneath it. The floral composition symbolises abundance, growth and the beauty of Hashem’s blessings.

This Chuppah Canopy is compatible with any Structure, and can be paired with or without a tallis (or other fabric) allowing for variety of installation and assemblage.
Here Ryan and Ella are pictured with their Hydrangeas Ketubah, beneath the Hydrangeas Chuppah (and Hydrangeas installed along the poles of the Chuppah in the same colour palette).
