The ‘Seasons of Love’ Birkat Habayit

The Seasons give texture to time and evidence the rotation of the Earth as she twirls and traverses around the sun.

“Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear
How do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets
In midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife”
– Seasons of Love, Rent: The Musical

As time flows forth, and the seasons turn into one other and renew, this Ketubah celebrates the seasons of love and a love that transcends through and beyond the seasons.
A love that is eternal and forever.

Each Season is imbued with its own wisdom and magic.
This Ketubah positions each season in a quadrant, flowing and rolling into eachother in a clockwise fashion,
moving in the circular fashion of time’s chronology.

The essence of this Ketubah is crowning a love that is timeless and defies the seasonal challenges that life presents us with.

In Autumn we see the leaves erupt into fiery plumes of vivacious bright colour
that burn like fire before falling like embers dissolving into the decay of memory.

In Winter, a whiteout wonderland washes and waltzes under the veil of a majestic snowfall
and ornamental ice chandeliers which descend as snowflakes and crylise as icicles.

In Spring, flora and flowers blossom, bloom and bulge into being in a beautiful becoming of nature,
charged with new life and invigorated with the vitality of a long sleep.

In summer the sun shines whilst the chlorophyll glows.
Love luxuriates in the warm whisper of long summer nights and  the late sunsets which accompany late walks by the beach.

Two Swans cradled in love, whose elegant embrace forms a heart (with their reflection mirrored on the pond’s surface at the bottom of the composition) are an optional addition and can be included as a further element if desired.
