“Life is a great big canvas; throw all the paint you can at it” – Danny Kaye
Evoking the spontaneous spirit of Jackson Pollock, this splattered Birkat Habayit [gold edition] was inspired by the aesthetic of the wedding invitation of the couple for whom it was painted.
This painting will reside in a home whose walls witness three generations of women cooking and laughing together. Birkat Habayits are meaningful wedding presents which invite happiness and joy into the home of the married couple.
The couples initials have been painted in a dazzling iridescent gold which radiates in the sun.
Also painted in gold is the hymn “אני לדודי ודודי לי – I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine” (Song of Songs – Shir HaShirim 6:3), a romantic declaration written by King Solomon to express the affinity between husband and wife. This wraps around the initials to create a dome.
This psalm evokes the intrinsic commitment, care and responsibility mutually undertaken by husband and wife in their journey through life’s grand experience.
